Your premise is flawed: There is NO context within which Palin won.
In fact, ff you're able to negotiate the mine field of truncated sentences, semantic gaffs, tortured metaphors and unabashedly un-nuanced ignorance ------ what you see is a woman who thinks she's at a high school pep rally. Or, worse, she comes off as a rather daft beauty pageant contestant striving desperately to sound intelligent by parroting phrases she's heard, and stringing them together with no particular regard for syntax or grammar.
And, let's not forget that this is the SAME woman who couldn't name a constitutional issue with which she disagreed ------- or a single newspaper she'd read.
